Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
If you submit a name, date of birth, or other query through a search tool supplied by an outside company, that provider receives and processes the entry to return results. We do not keep an official warrant database and do not store or log those submitted search terms on our own servers. Review the provider's privacy terms before sending information through its tool.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you email us or use a contact channel, we retain the message and contact details as needed to answer and keep track of the exchange. We limit access to our team and do not share the correspondence outside the organization unless law requires disclosure or makes it necessary to address a legal claim.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, server and analytics systems may record technical details about the visit. Depending on the system, those details can include:
- Your device's internet protocol (IP) address
- Browser name and version
- Device type and operating system
- Pages opened and approximate time spent on them
- The referring site, when one is provided
- Dates and times of page requests
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, small files that a browser stores on your device. They help us understand broad traffic patterns, such as which pages receive visits and where visitors leave. Analytics providers may combine usage information into reports for us. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; some site features may not work the same way afterward.
What We Do With This Data
- Operating and maintaining the website
- Passing submitted searches to the provider that operates the tool
- Measuring general page use to decide what information needs improvement
- Diagnosing errors and protecting the service
- Displaying advertising that may be selected using browsing activity
No Warrant Data on File
This website does not host, maintain, compile, or sell a warrant database or personal warrant files. It gives general directions to the King and Queen County Sheriff's Office, the Circuit, General District, and Juvenile and Domestic Relations court clerks, and Virginia's online case-information system. Those government systems are separate from this site. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and site-visitor data is not assembled here into consumer reports or third-party warrant records.
Third-Party Search Partners
Search tools displayed or linked from this site may be operated by outside companies. A query submitted to one of them is subject to that company's privacy statement, retention periods, and sharing practices. We do not control how a search partner handles information, so check its policy before using its service.
Links to Other Websites
Our links lead to independent services such as the county Sheriff's Office, Virginia court pages, the Virginia Online Case Information System, legal resources, or commercial search tools. Once you leave this site, the destination's privacy notice applies. Read it before sharing personal information.
Advertising partners may use their own technologies to select or measure ads across websites. Those tracking practices are managed by the partners, not by this site.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. Information may be available to these service providers or recipients:
- The search provider that receives a query you submit
- Analytics vendors that measure site visits and performance
- Advertising networks that serve or measure advertisements
- A government or law-enforcement body when a valid legal process requires disclosure
How We Protect Your Data
We use reasonable administrative and technical steps intended to protect information in our control. No website or internet transmission can be guaranteed completely secure, and we cannot promise that a security incident will never occur.
Users Under 18
This site is intended for adults and is not designed to collect personal information from children under 18. If you believe a minor sent us information, contact us through the Contact page so we can review and remove information where appropriate.
Your Data Rights
Virginia's Consumer Data Protection Act, Va. Code §§ 59.1-575 through 59.1-585, applies only to controllers and processors that meet the law's scope and other requirements. Where it applies, the law provides rights that may include confirming access to personal data, correcting inaccuracies, deleting data, obtaining a portable copy, and opting out of certain processing. See the Act's scope provision and consumer rights provision; not every right applies to every organization or data use.
- Ask what personal information we hold about your contact with us
- Request correction of inaccurate information, where applicable
- Request deletion of information, subject to legal retention duties
- Ask to opt out of processing covered by a right that applies to you
The Virginia Freedom of Information Act is separate: it governs qualifying public records held by public bodies such as King and Queen County, not data held by this private website.
